Sports cars seem to have become hot favourites with the city`s celebs. While Sachin Tendulkar`s just been presented with a Ferrari Modena 360 F1, Hrithik Roshan`s got his hands on a refurbished `64 Ford Mustang. The car`s a beauty with an electric blue body radiating a silver sparkle with a dash of yellow.
The vrroom of the six cylinders is music to Hrithik`s ears. "Hey man, cool car," he seems to say as he admires the beauty. This rare model, especially reconstructed for Hrithik, will take its first spin in his home production Koi Mil Gaya."It`s the perfect foil to my character in Koi Mil Gaya," says Hrithik. The second half of the movie sees Hrithik playing a very flamboyant character. So, finding a car that would match the character became top priority. Hrithik chanced upon Suraj Bhalla, the magic car restorer. "I explained the character to him and left the rest to him," says Hrithik.An automobile engineer from Australia, Suraj, of Team Motors, restored the entire model from three rusting pieces. Two years of toil later, it was ready to hit the road."It runs beautifully," says Suraj. He`s retained the original flavour of the car by using genuine parts _ original engine, suspension, the works.
The final product surpassed Hrithik`s expectations. "It`s even better than I had imagined. The showy car completes the entire look of the personality," he says. This is Suraj`s second masterpiece, the first one being Abhishekh Bachchan`s car in Sharaarat.Bowled over, Hrithik is ready to grab the dream machine for his private collection. If the hot wheels survive the stunts it`s slated to perform in the movie, then this sleek power machine is set to adorn Hrithik`s car park.
